Round 1 Wrap - What up Alvi

As I write this blog I am also writing my resignation as host of cashcow after scoring 1953 this week. It was never going to be great weekend after Joel Selwood went down against the saints and Mitch Clark forgot what the footy looked like. The Clark inclusion in my team was made to prevent a zero in my team and may see me burn a trade early in the season.

You know its trouble when Andrew Krakouer’s 96 was the highest score in your forward line. While almost all of Australia will have him in there team it’s good to see cashcows scoring well. Ed Curnow fits this category after scoring 107 on Thursday night. It had every coach without him in there team saying how did I overlook him?

Most disappointing was the fact I lost to Beau, that is back to back losses to him. Although it would have been nice to know I was playing him this week. This season there is no time to adjust like in previous years head to head wise. I have also realised I wont have a Toyota in my driveway later this year.

Round 1 Wrap - Cuzzywuzzy3peat

The first round has concluded and although I was hoping for a better score than 1998, it's always nice to get a win in the first of many Cashcow derbies this year against Nick who had 1953.

4/22 players racked up 100 and the Bryce Gibbs vice-captaincy loophole worked nicely as he scored 147.

Dean Cox was incredible, despite not having a ruck to contest against. He scored 142 while spending the fourth quarter up forward due to cramping.

Jack Grimes had a massive third quarter and scored 104 to look like the pick of the cheap defenders in 2011.

Joel Selwood was the disappointment of the round with just 27 before he was concussed by a Farren Ray knee. Selwood was subbed off and didn't return, it was made even more bitter with Jimmy Bartel (the player I opted against for Selwood) had 114.

DT dog act of the round goes to Mick Malthouse for subbing off Andrew Krakouer when he was on 96 after a 55-point third term. Despite every coach having him, it's nice to have a cheap as chips option who will deliver big scores this season.

Ed Curnow was the surprise of the round with 107 from 24 touches, absolutely filthy I went with Shaun Atley (40) instead of him.

That brings the round to the end, next week we can look forward to the inclusion of 6 Gold Coast players to Cuzzywuzzy3peat
